SPORTS IN ST. MARY
The parish of St. Mary has produced athletes that are among the great names in the athletic All-of- fame.

 

Nikole Mitchell who attended St. Mary's High School, was a gold medalist for Jamaica at the World Junior Track and Field Championship, in Germany, 1992. Nikole received numerous scholarship offers to attend universities in the United States, after which she settled for The University of Texas, in Austin. During her tenure at the university she represented Jamaica at the 1996 Olympics, where she got a bronze medal in the (4X1) sprint relay, for which Merlene Ottey ran the anchor leg.

Jimmy Adams who was borned in Port Maria, St. Mary - played for the West Indies Criket team, and was elected as the World number one Batsman for a period.
